Building a future from the fabric of the past

Morley College recently launched an £18 million capital campaign to secure its position as one of the UK’s leading centres for adult education.

When the leadership team approached us, they already had a campaign name, a hard deadline and celebrity endorsement from Joanna Lumley OBE FRGS. What they needed was an identity and materials to kick-start the appeal and engage a previously untapped audience of trusts, foundations and major donors.

Our inspiration for the identity came from the work of artist, Bridget Riley, whose painting, The Morley College Mural, was commissioned for their new Queen Elizabeth II entrance in 1973. By using Riley’s strong diagonal lines and palette in our own creative, we underlined Morley’s celebrated arts heritage and reputation, while also using the fabric of the existing building to help secure its future.
